Purpose : To correct baggy, puffy or drooping eye lids. The procedure is also performed for “chinki” eyelids where there is no pre-teasel fold on upper eyelid.
Procedure : The incision is usually with in the folds of eye lid, extra skin and muscles are cut, herniated fat removed or repositioned and incision closed in the same fold line. In lower eyelids, where there is no excess skin the procedure can be performed through conjunctiva so that there is no cut in the skin.
The procedure performed in “chinki” eyelid is called oriental blepheroplasty. In this, a pre-tarsal fold is created.
Recovery : Patient usually return to work 7 to 10 days, is presentable after 3 weeks time.
Longevity : The result last for several years and may even be permanent.
